1. Controller

The controller for data processing on this website within the meaning of Art. 4 (7) GDPR is:

No data protection officer has been appointed, as the conditions of Art. 37 GDPR and § 38 of the German Federal Data Protection Act are not met.

2. Principle

This website is purely an information page about the Lingo42 app. There is no registration, no user account, no contact form and no newsletter sign-up. No analytics, advertising or social media services are used, and no automated decision-making or profiling takes place.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by the following provider:

The servers are located in Germany. Personal data is not transferred to a third country outside the EU.

When the website is accessed, the host automatically collects data that your browser transmits and that is technically necessary in order to deliver the page and to secure its operation:

• IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of access
• name and URL of the file retrieved
• volume of data transferred and notification of a successful retrieval
• browser type, browser version and operating system
• referrer URL, i.e. the page visited before

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless delivery of the website and in defending against attacks. This data is not combined with other data sources and is not evaluated to identify individual persons.

The log files are stored in pseudonymised form where possible and deleted once the respective purpose has been achieved. Insofar as they allow the data subject to be identified, the storage period is a maximum of 14 days. If a security-relevant incident occurs, the log files concerned are retained until it has been investigated and resolved.

A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host.

4. No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no tracking pixels, fingerprinting techniques or audience measurement. That is also why no cookie banner appears: there is no consent to obtain, because no non-essential technologies are in use.

5. Nothing is stored on your device

This website places no data on your device – neither cookies nor entries in your browser’s local storage. Each language version has its own address; the language selector at the top right simply takes you to the corresponding page. If you open the start address without a language, the server evaluates your browser’s language setting once in order to direct you to the matching version. That information is not stored in the process.

6. Fonts, icons and media

All fonts, icons, images and videos are delivered directly from our own server. No content is loaded from Google Fonts, from content delivery networks or from other external sources. Your IP address is therefore not transmitted to any third party when you visit this website.

7. Links to the App Store

The buttons for downloading the app point to Apple’s App Store. Only when you click one of these links does your device establish a connection to Apple; Apple then processes your data as a controller in its own right. We have no influence over the extent and purpose of that processing. Apple’s privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy. The provider is Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland.

8. Contact by email

If you write to us by email, we process your details solely in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, and Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for enquiries concerning a contractual relationship. We delete the correspondence as soon as it is no longer needed and no statutory retention periods stand in the way.

9. Your rights

You have the following rights towards us at any time with regard to the personal data concerning you:

10. Right to lodge a complaint

Irrespective of the above, under Art. 77 GDPR you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany (datenschutz-berlin.de).

11. TLS encryption

For security reasons this website uses TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the “https://” shown in your browser’s address bar.

We adapt this privacy policy when the legal situation or the features of this website change. The version published here applies to your visit.
